Zoho and Google Documents have many functions that could be utilized in a classroom environment.
Zoho Writer acts similar to Microsoft Word which is essential for many homework assignments in both high school and college. Zoho Writer would be a great alternative writer software for students who do not own a copy of Microsoft Office or want to save their money by not spending 100s of dollars on the software.
Google Documents was quite interesting. I designed a very simple image with no hassle since it was identical to Microsoft word as well. I used the drawing program and found it astonishingly simple to use. Students could utilize this software to design poster for class projects by each editing and contributing their individual work with each other or to play around it on their own free-time.
Both applications are fun to use, but I prefer Zoho writer. As I am an English major writing papers and constructing other word documents is always on my agenda. Zoho writer can help me construct documents any where I am near a computer and internet access and to save my work to my online account for future editing and publishing.
I can see myself using this web based applications with my students. I only hope their more than these two. The more the merry they say.
